This news was shared by the Japanese company West Japan Railway. This railway station will be the first in the world to be created using 3D printing.
The project is being handled by JR West Innovations and Serendix. Reportedly, the assembly of the one-story building will take only six hours.
Hatsushima station will be built in the city of Arida (Wakayama Prefecture). The facade will be decorated with images of oranges and fish, famous in the region.
The construction will be divided into two stages: first, the parts will be manufactured at the Serendix plant using a 3D printer, then all this will be assembled using a crane. The assembly is scheduled for the night of March 25-26, 2025, when train traffic will stop.
The location of the station by the sea will allow testing the resistance of 3D-printed structures to salt air. If the project is successful, this technology will be used at other stations.
While we’re talking about smart hotels, are you ready to test it?
