One of the reasons to come to Moscow is to visit all the sights and… museums! According to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the capital has become the leader in the number of museums in the Global Cities Index.
A total of 156 megacities participated in the rating. Moscow is ahead of London, Paris, Vienna, Rome, Barcelona, Beijing, Tokyo and New York.
The Global Cities Index 2024 evaluates cities in categories such as “Business Activity”, “Human Capital”, “Information Exchange”, “Cultural experience” and “Political Engagement”.
There are 450 museums in total in the Russian capital.
