Experts conducted a survey among users of social networks and found out how Russians plan to spend the New Year holidays. About 1,000 respondents participated in the study.
It became known that:
- The most popular plans were tourist trips, active recreation in your city, as well as watching TV series and movies.
- Among those who will spend holidays away from home, most have already planned sightseeing trips: they will go to the neighboring region, out of town to nature, to the seashore and ski resorts.
- The respondents are going to go for walks, ice skating or sledding. They want to attend mass events — concerts, performances, fairs and festivals, as well as baths, spas or massages.
- About 16% of respondents will work on New Year’s weekend.
- The growth of bookings is observed in such areas as Vologda, Rostov-on-Don, Kostroma, Vladivostok, Kaliningrad, Zelenogradsk, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar and others.
- Top 10 popular destinations for New Year holidays: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Esto-Sadok and Krasnaya Polyana, Yaroslavl, Yekaterinburg.
- The average cost of a booked night in hotels and apartments in the country is 7150 rubles (this is 10% higher than in 2023).
The pharmacist and head of the pharmacy “SBER EAPTEK”, Natalia Bolotova, advises to prepare for a winter trip carefully and take care of the traveler’s first-aid kit in advance. It is worth taking medications for the prevention and treatment of colds, as well as vitamins and minerals for immunity — zinc, ascorbic acid, vitamin D.
In addition, while walking around the city, it is worth carrying medical masks and sanitizers, and at home periodically clean the nasal mucosa with seawater-based products, which will avoid viral infections.
Travelers are also advised to add digestive medications, enterosorbents and antidiarrheal medications, antihistamines to their luggage.
