China and the UAE were among the most in-demand countries for travel in 2024, Ostrovok analysts found out.
Russia took the first place among the holiday destinations last year. Domestic hotels accounted for more than 88% of all bookings, while China ranked second with 6% and the UAE third with almost 1%. Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan are also among the top five.
Here are the types of accommodation that travelers mostly booked.:
- hotels (almost 66%);
- apartments (more than 17%);
- mini-hotels (4.6%).
The most popular hotels were without stars (more than 40%), followed by 3* (more than 25%) and 4* (23%).
Also, 12% of travelers booked accommodation with children, mostly choosing apartments with an average check of 30% higher. Almost half of the users chose inexpensive rooms — up to 5,000 rubles per night. In addition, 21% were well—off travelers with a check 1.5 times higher than the average, and 5.5% were active tourists with a check five times higher.
