Moscow
- Parade. Moscow will traditionally host a parade on Red Square, fireworks, exhibitions, concerts and film screenings.
- Exhibitions. Among the interesting events, it is worth highlighting the exhibition “1418 days to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory” in the New Tretyakov Gallery with more than 200 works and the exhibition “1941-1945. Moscow. Kremlin. Saved treasures” in the Armory. The exhibitions “Boris Kustodiev” at the Tretyakov Gallery and “Once upon a Time” at the Winery will also open.
- Events in parks. Guided tours of films about the war will be held in the Moskino Film Park, and educational events will be held in Victory Park on Poklonnaya Gora. Zaryadye Park has prepared a large-scale exhibition with historical exhibits.
- Festivals. If you’re thinking of where to go for cool new photos and selfies, visit the spring flower festival in the Aptekarsky Garden and the Green Palaces exhibition at the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve.
Saint Petersburg
- Icebreaker Festival. The icebreaker Festival dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory will be held in St. Petersburg from May 1 to May 4. Three icebreakers — “Captain Nikolaev”, “Mudyug” and “Captain Plakhin” — will be available for free excursions by appointment on the portal. Visit-Petersburg.ru The culmination will be the “Tugboat Waltz” on the Neva River on May 3.
- Sand Sculpture Festival. It takes place in the Peter and Paul Fortress. As part of the festive program, a concert and master classes will be held here on May 9.
- Exhibitions. On weekends, you can visit the exhibition “Great Country — Great Victory. 1941-1945” at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall and two exhibitions at the Russian Museum: “The Great Karl” (until May 12) and “Viktor Vasnetsov” (until June 23). The Hermitage Museum has opened an exhibition entitled “The Divine Michelangelo and his Contemporaries.”
- Walking in Peterhof.The fountains in the Peterhof Museum-Reserve are already working.
Sochi
- Downhill skiing. The summer season starts on May 1 in Krasnaya Polyana. Skiing and snowboarding will be available until May 11. Sightseeing cable car rides and hiking trails are offered.
- New places for walking.The Rosa Khutor resort will open the summer season on April 29 with an updated Rosa Peak observation deck at an altitude of 2,320 meters. A park with paths, shade areas and places to relax has been opened here.
- What’s interesting about the coast. Beaches will open on May 1, and a rare “handkerchief tree” has bloomed in the Southern Cultures Park.
