In Sri Lanka, from April 15, 2024, they will be offered to obtain temporary local rights. To do this, you need to show your driver’s license at the airport upon arrival.
This innovation will make it easier for tourists to rent cars and scooters and at the same time replenish the state treasury with currency.
These are the prices for a driver’s license offered by the island’s authorities:
- for one month — $25;
- for three month — $50;
- for six months — $75;
- for year — $200.
It is also possible to drive vehicles with an international driver’s license in Sri Lanka.
