It’s time to make time for visiting art temples! The Art Newspaper has presented its annual ranking of the best art museums in the world.
The top ten includes:
- Louvre Museum, Paris (8.73 million visitors);
- Vatican Museum, Rome (6.82 million);
- British Museum, London (6.48 million);
- Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (5.73 million);
- Tate Modern, London (4.6 million);
- Shanghai Museum (4.2 million);
- National Gallery of Art, Washington (3.93 million);
- National Museum of Korea, Seoul (3.8 million);
- Musée d’Orsay, Paris (3.75 million);
- National Museum of Anthropology, Mexico City (3.7 million).
Russian museums in the ranking:
- Russian Museum, Saint Petersburg (11th place);
- Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg (12th place);
- Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow (22nd place);
- Pushkin Museum, Moscow (45th place);
- Museums of the Moscow Kremlin (66th place);
- GES-2 Cultural Center, Moscow (81st place).
