What do Russians pay attention to when booking a hotel?

The study was conducted by the developer Veren Group. It was found that more than a third of Russians (38%) consider the presence of a private beach with a lounge area when choosing a hotel, 23% prefer outdoor pools, and 13% prefer wellness centers. 

Only 8% of respondents consider a hotel restaurant to be important, and 4% consider a spa and fitness center to be important.

The study also says that:

  • 34% of respondents highlight impeccable room service;
  • 27% — gastronomic variety;
  • 22% — transfer;
  • 13% — animation and child care services;
  • individual support is important for 4%.

In children’s infrastructure, respondents attach the greatest importance to:

  • playgrounds (20%);
  • pools with slides (17%);
  • children’s centers (15%);
  • child care (14%);
  • rental of strollers, bicycles and scooters (4%);
  • all of the above (28%).

The rooms offer the following amenities:

  • modern renovation (27%);
  • scenic view (23%);
  • family rooms (19%);
  • sound insulation (16%);
  • full bathroom (10%);
  • spacious layout (5%).

Another 17% of respondents appreciate the building’s architecture, 18% appreciate panoramic views, and 14% appreciate the garden and landscaping. 

High ratings and positive reviews are the top additional benefits, as they are important to 41% of respondents, while only 3% are interested in the hotel’s star rating.
