Russian Railways has allowed automatic purchase of tickets from the Waiting List

В РЖД разрешили автоматически покупать билеты из «Листа ожидания»

Together with VTB, the company has added the ability to automatically purchase long-distance train tickets for passengers who have left a request in the “Waiting List”.

Now passengers do not need to constantly check the availability of seats. Tickets are automatically paid within two hours of the seats becoming available.

How it works:

  • A passenger leaves a request for sold-out tickets.
  • Next, you link your bank card and set a limit on the amount you’re willing to spend.
  • When a seat becomes available, the money will be automatically deducted, and the ticket will be issued based on the specified parameters (car type, number of seats, etc.).

The “Waiting List” is also available in the “RZD Passengers” app, which can be downloaded from RuStore. Previously, it was only available on the website. It is planned to implement the ability to automatically charge through the app.

During the year of operation of the Waiting List service, passengers purchased 720,000 tickets.
