Eastbrew Coffee

- Metro: “Taganskaya”.
- Filter coffee: 180 rubles.
The coffee shop is located right inside the high-rise building on Kotelnicheskaya embankment. There is a relaxed atmosphere here: the Simpsons is being shown on a projector above the bar, and chess is being played at one of the small tables.
At Eastbrew Coffee, you can choose from a large coffee menu: classics, alternatives and non-coffee drinks. The shelf contains grains, funnels and filters for brewing.
How to spend a budget time in Moscow
We have collected 10 ideas for inexpensive leisure in the capital. For example, you can go to the Illusion cinema for free — it is located in a house on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment, like Eastbrew Coffee.
“Erna”
- Address: 2nd Spasonalivkovsky lane, 6.
- Metro: Polyanka.
- Filter coffee: 250 rubles.
Here you feel free and peaceful. You look at the barista, and he sincerely smiles at you — pure pleasure.
Inside the coffee shop you will find a large space with a bar, an island with grain and seating. There is also a summer terrace — these are tables right on the sidewalk, my favorite solution, you can watch the passing Muscovites. Cyclists in gear like to stop by Erna’s to relax and ride on.
6am Bread Kitchen
- Address: Sadovnicheskaya str., 80.
- Metro: “Paveletskaya”.
- Filter coffee: 300 rubles.
This place can’t be called a coffee shop, but local coffee and pastries are no worse for it. Here I drank the best Americano I’ve ever tasted, although I usually don’t like it. It was sour, almost without bitterness and very much resembled filter coffee. If you are also biased against Americano, be sure to come and taste it here.
When you’re at 6am Bread Kitchen, my recommendation is: a cup of Americano and brioche with strawberries and gorgonzola.
Cool gastrobars of Russia
Embark on a journey through the country’s unique restaurants with the article “The Magnificent Seven: the best gastrobars in Russia”.
Rockets Coffee
- Address: Tverskaya blvd., 3.
- Metro: Arbatskaya.
- Filter coffee: 290 rubles.
A coffee shop with a rocket on the logo. The modern interior is decorated in white and gray tones. You can sit outside or inside. There is a display case with pastries. Rockets Coffee is one of my favorite roasters, I always brew the grains I bought here at home with joy and anticipation.
Orthodox coffee shop “Antipa”
- Address: Kolymazhny Lane, 8/4 p. 7.
- Metro: “Kropotkinskaya”.
- Filter coffee: 250 rubles.
A coffee shop in the heart of Moscow. If you look at the map, it may seem that it is in a noisy place — it is not.
“Antipa” hid on a quiet street on the territory of the Antipiev Church and opposite the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. There is a summer terrace with a communal table, and tables with chairs are scattered throughout the territory. You can also take a place inside the room, where there is a lot of wood, white walls and floor-to-ceiling windows. If you come to the dessert counter, I advise you to try the marmalade.
Skuratov Coffee
- Address: Komsomolsky ave., 24, p. 1.
- Metro: Frunzenskaya.
- Filter coffee: 190 rubles.
One of the branches of a large network that originated in the Siberian city of Omsk. Skuratov always has polite and friendly baristas. A variety of coffee drinks are prepared here — you can also find such rare species as nitro and cold brew on cherries.
But the main feature of this particular institution is the open training sessions of the Skuratov Running Club in Moscow, which begin and end here. Anyone can join them. After the run, the organizers treat you to coffee and pies for free.
How coffee shops became popular
The culture of coffee shops began to develop in the second half of the XX century: visitors increasingly came to them not just to drink their favorite drink, but also to chat. In the 1990s, it became fashionable to understand the varieties of coffee: establishments began to offer grains and higher—quality service, and the consumption of the drink turned into an art – it is not for nothing that coffee is compared with wine in terms of flavor saturation.
ABC Coffee Roasters
- Address: Ordynsky dead end, 4A.
- Metro: Tretyakov Gallery.
- Filter coffee: 250 rubles.
ABC coffee shops are immediately remembered for their snow-white interior. People come here to spend time with a cup of coffee and a conversation or to work on a laptop. There is a display case with pastries and a large coffee card with classics and alternatives.
Bloom-n-Brew Baum
- Address: 35 Nizhnyaya Krasnoselskaya str., p. 50.
- Metro: Baumanskaya.

A two-storey coffee shop with stunning interior design. There are places right under the stairs. The menu includes breakfasts and brunches, coffee — black and with milk.
“Man and Steamer”
- Address: Mytnaya str., 74.
- Metro: Tulskaya.
- Filter coffee: 150 rubles.
The coffee shop at Danilovsky market has been a regular of many guides and articles about Moscow’s coffee life for several years. Come here to drink coffee brewed by the classical or alternative method. There is also a baking counter.
Surf Coffee x Dream
- Address: Novoslobodskaya str., 16A.
- Metro: Mendeleevskaya.
- Filter coffee: 245 rubles.
This is one of the establishments of a large chain. It seems to me that the coolest Surf Coffee shops are located in Sochi: they seem to echo the relaxed spirit of the city. Therefore, among the Moscow ones, I decided to choose a branch with a similar atmosphere.
Surf Coffee x Dream is located in an alley with a large number of establishments, there are bars and restaurants. This coffee shop also fits in perfectly.
Have a coffee on the island of dreams
If you are going to Bali and want to learn more about the local coffee culture, pick up an article about the local attitude to the drink. And inside you will find a selection of local establishments.
“Cooperative Black”
- Address: Lyalin Lane, 5, p. 1.
- Metro: Kurskaya.

This project was founded in 2013 and has become one of the pioneers of the specialty industry in the country. The Black Cooperative opened its own coffee shop in 2018, and in 2023 became the co-founder of the April institution.
Come to the “Black Cooperative” to drink an alternative or classic from the pioneers of the industry in Russia.
Now people come to the coffee shop not only for the enjoyment of the drink, but also for a sense of belonging to the community of its connoisseurs, a cozy atmosphere and lively communication. The beauty is that everyone can become a part of this culture.
