And what do you look at when you choose a hotel? According to the results of a study from the Center for the Study of Consumer Behavior (CIPP) of Roskachestvo, it became known that more than a third of Russians do not look at the number of stars at hotels both in Russia and abroad.
A total of 1,200 respondents aged 18 and over who have used any hotel services over the past 12 months participated in the survey.
It became clear from the survey that:
- 11% of Russians are looking for 5* hotels;
- 20% recognize 3* hotels;
- 7% consider accommodations with a level from 0 to 2 stars;
- 35% do not look at the stars at all.
The study also says that:
- 66% of Russians are sure that the quality of services provided depends on the stars;
- a quarter check whether the declared rating corresponds to the hotel classification certificate;
- 56% believe that the number of hotel stars corresponds to the declared level of service;
- 6% think that the quality of services does not depend on the stars;
- 3% are convinced that all hotels do not justify the stars received;
- 36% of respondents think that hotels often do not correspond to the declared category.
The survey showed that:
- 74% of respondents take into account a 10-point rating on review services and booking sites;
- 27% are looking for hotels with at least 8 points;
- 11% are interested in hotels with a rating of 10 points;
- 13% choose 9 points;
- 7% are ready to check into hotels with a rating of 6 points;
- 24% do not study ratings at all.
