Starting from January 1, 2025, the rules for transporting animals on long-distance trains will be updated in Russia. This was reported by the press service of the Federal Passenger Company (FPC).
Owners of large pets will no longer have to buy back an entire compartment. For those who still prefer this option, the registration of a document for the transportation of a pet will be free. Mustachioed and tailed ones can be transported in high-comfort compartment wagons.
At the same time, other passengers who will purchase tickets on the Russian Railways website will receive a notification about the presence of a pet in their compartment and will be able to change their chosen seat if desired.
