Russpass: where to go in spring in Moscow

Russpass: куда сходить весной в Москве

And it’s getting warmer outside! I just want to leave the house more often and breathe the fresh spring air. RUSSPASS magazine has offered a couple of ideas where you could go for a walk in Moscow right now (in 2025).

Easter

Spring in Moscow begins with bright holidays. Maslenitsa has already passed, but Lent has begun after it, and many establishments offer lean dishes. On Easter, April 20, 2025, pastry shops will be pleased with traditional cakes and Easter cookies.

Spring in parks

The Botanical Garden of Moscow State University is holding an exhibition “Spring Rehearsal” until March 16, where you can see more than 10,000 flowers. The Biryulyovsky Arboretum also hosts an exhibition of primroses.

In April, events dedicated to primroses, including eco-walks and “Snowdrop Day” are planned at the Bitsevsky Forest ecocenter.

Also on May 1, master classes in floristry and experiments with sound and flowers will be held in the Bauman Garden. Swans will be released in Tsaritsyno Park on this day. Master classes and excursions are expected in Kolomenskoye on May 18.

In spring, spend evenings in Izmailovsky Park: on May 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, from 17:00 to 19:00, open flower lessons are planned here. On May 20, a “Garden garden” will open in Kuzminki Park, and on May 23, an “Open Garden Day” with guided tours will be held at the Kuzminki ecocenter.

A gastronomic miracle

The Moscow Breakfast on the Verandah Festival in May offers a variety of breakfasts from the best restaurants on the outdoor verandahs of the capital. Try original author’s and traditional dishes!

Night Moscow

Bible Night will be held in April, and Museum Night in May, where Moscow’s cultural venues will be open all night with lectures, guided tours and master classes. Participation is free upon registration.

River trips

Starting from the end of April, river trips around Moscow can be planned. For example, routes from Zaryadye to Gorky Park or from Kievsky Railway Station to Kitay-gorod.

And we have figured out where we can fly this spring. Especially if you want to look at tulips, cherries and rhododendrons!
