St. Olaf’s Tower is open to tourists after reconstruction

Башня Святого Олафа открыта для туристов после реконструкции

The restoration of St. Olaf’s Tower has been completed in Vyborg Castle, and now it welcomes visitors again.

The tower opened to tourists on June 11. Visitors will enjoy a panoramic view of the city from a height of 50 meters.

Restoration work began in the spring of 2021 and included interior decoration, installation of a view elevator and restoration of historic brickwork. Spiral staircases were also expanded, loopholes and vaults were opened, and the walls and stairs were illuminated.

The St. Olaf Tower is a key element of Vyborg Castle, built by the Swedes in 1293 and has the status of a cultural heritage site of federal significance.
