This was reported by the Department of Rospotrebnadzor in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
According to the department’s report, on July 8, 2025, 144 water samples were taken at 24 beaches to conduct a study based on sanitary-chemical, microbiological, and parasitological criteria. It was revealed that the quality does not meet the requirements of sanitary legislation.
However, swimming is allowed in some bodies of water in the Leningrad Region. The lakes of Tsaritsyno, Snetkovskoye, Razdolnoye, and Otradnoye, as well as the Buraya River in the Priozersky District, have been inspected.
But don’t worry about the beaches. After all, there’s always the option to get out of the Northern Capital for the weekend and find new places to swim.
