Travelers increasingly began to choose not only large cities in their routes. Which, according to experts from Expedia, is a positive phenomenon, as popular places are being unloaded from overturism.
Here are some European locations that were included in the Expedia list.
- Reims, France. French champagne is produced here, and you can also visit the Gothic cathedral of Notre Dame de Reims. A high-speed TGV train runs to the city from Paris, which takes 45 minutes.
- Brescia, Italy.It is located in the foothills of the Alps between Lake Garda and Lake Iseo in Lombardy. The city received the status of the Italian capital of Culture in 2023. Roman ruins and a medieval castle on top of a hill offer a look at themselves here. And also take a look at art galleries and museums, admire the natural beauty. You can get to the city by train from Milan in 40 minutes.
- Girona, Spain. It is the largest city in Northern Catalonia. It is worth coming here to enjoy the architectural styles: from the medieval Old Town of Barry Vell to the ruins of the Roman fortress of Forsa Vella and impressive Art Nouveau villas. The journey from Barcelona takes 40 minutes.
