They won’t separate you anymore: an order came into force prohibiting parents from boarding planes with their children

Больше не разлучат: в силу вступил приказ, запрещающий рассаживать родителей с детьми в самолётах

An order from the Ministry of Transport has entered into force obliging airlines to provide parents with children with adjacent seats on board for free, and seats should be “not across the aisle.”

Some companies already allow you to choose adjacent seats without paying when buying a ticket.

At the same time, only a paid choice of seats is available in the Aeroflot group, even for passengers with children. If Ural Airlines has more than two adults, the system requests information about accompanying persons, but seats are still offered for money.

Nordwind initially offers free seats at the stage of ticket registration, and UTair allows you to automatically assign a seat if a passenger does not want to pay. The most transparent solution is S7, where you can choose a standard seat for free for both adults and children.

The order also contains a requirement for a 50% discount on children’s tickets in Russia, which was quickly implemented.

Experts believe that the new requirement for shared accommodation will not create serious problems for carriers, especially with early bookings.
