Summer is already biting at the heels! The online hotel and apartment booking service Ostrovok analyzed the bookings of Russian travelers for June 2024. We decided to share with you which holiday destinations they choose at the beginning of summer, as well as how much it will cost them.
Sharing the main observations:
- Relative to June 2023, the number of bookings in accommodation facilities at foreign beach resorts increased by 80%.
- The top 10 resorts are Abkhazia, Turkey, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Greece, Egypt, Vietnam, Cyprus, Malaysia, and the Maldives.
- In 2024, Abkhazia is ahead of Turkey for the first time (it was the leader in 2022 and 2023) in the number of bookings for June. The demand for hotels in the country has tripled, and the share of the destination has almost doubled (from 7% to 13%).
- In addition, interest in Asian beach destinations has increased by 91%, and in the Middle East by 25%.
- Demand for Greece increased by 74%, despite the lack of direct flights and visa requirements.
- The most expensive destinations are Maldives (average 37,000 rubles per night), Cyprus (11,300 rubles), Sri Lanka (10,800 rubles).
