Multimeter-high mills to be burned in Nikola-Lenivets Art Park

Multi-meter mills will be burned in the Nikola-Lenivets Art Park>

One-two-three, Maslenitsa, burn! I have an idea how to celebrate: go to the Nikola-Lenivets Art Park. On March 1, 2025, there will be a large-scale fire performance with the burning of a unique art object instead of the traditional effigy.

The event will be held under the theme “Once upon a time there was a poor knight…”. The burning of art objects in Nikola-Lenivets began in 2001 thanks to Nikolai Polisky, who made the fire a co-author of the art. Every year, a new facility is created — for example, in 2024, a 22-meter volcano was burned.

This year, guests will enjoy a theatrical action about a knight errant fighting giants for the sake of love and art. The culmination will be the burning of the art object “Mills”, symbolizing the hero’s obstacles — 24 towers up to 26 meters high with rotating blades.

The Carnival program includes:

<li style=an interactive fair with folk games and workshops on creating a knight’s spear and flower;

 • traditional treats and souvenirs from local craftsmen;
 • theatrical performance “Duel of the Knight Errant” under the direction of Oleg Zhukovsky;
 • DJ set by Kedr Livansky, creating an atmosphere of electronic folklore for dancing after the burning of an art object.
 • And we already have ideas on our blog about what to do in the Kaluga region.
